Novedades Shepherd

We are pleased to announce the introduction of various new hop-ups for the Velox V10. Some of Team Shepherd's best drivers tested them to ensure our high quality standard as well as an optimized performance.

# 507101 - Front Bumber wide V10

The new wide front bumper allows the use for Lola type bodies for the Velox V10. Addtionally it increases steering in fast corners because of improved aerodynamics. The bumper is made of a durable though flexible composite material.

# 512301 - Brass battery tray

The new CNC-machined brass battery tray (#512301) allows you to increase the weight at the best possible position: in the center of the chassisplate. With 41g the perfectly balanced battery tray lowers the center of gravity significantly and improves the handling of the V10 especially on high traction tracks.

# 811511 / # 811512 - Black Springs front & rear, extra softThe black springs (rear: # 811511 / front: # 811512) are the latest addition to the already available shock absorber springs and increase the possibilities of fine-tune the V10 to specific track conditions. Now the following springs are available for the V10 (from soft to hard): black, grey, light green, dark green.

# 820320 / #820325 / #820330 - Silicone Oil 200.000 / 250.000 / 300.000 cstEspecially for the front differential of the V10 many racers requested harder diff oils. Therefore we extended our range of silicone oil to meet the racers demands. The following oils are now available: 200.00 cSt (#820320), 250.000 cSt (#820325), 300.000 cSt (#820330). The silicone oil was produced accordingly to our specifications and high quality standards. With this new oils it's possible to fine-tune your V10 to different track conditions.

Mas carreras para los Velox

"Last weekend the 4th round of the French Championship took place near the small village of Reding, Lorraine. In total about 60 drivers attend the event under perfect weather conditions. Again Shepherd driver Richard Volta showed a good performance and clocked the fastest laptimes. With his Velox V8 he secured himself the pole-position the fourth time in a row at national championship races. As the tyre wear was very high a good strategy was the key to the victory. Volta decided to change tyres two times and it perfectly worked. After 45 minutes he crossed the finishing line in first position two laps in front of Anthony Abisset and Stéphane Riccobono another lap down. With his second victory in a row he increased his lead in the French Championship with only one race to go."

The 2nd round of the Irish Nationals was another big success for Team Shepherd. Ian Campbell and Chris Steele both won their finals and increased their lead in the ranking list. In the 1/8th scale class Ian Campbell had a good start into qualifying taking the provisional TQ in the first round. Clive Connolly improved his time in the second round and took over the pole-position. Unfortunately Campbell had some traffic in the last round and didn't improve. So he started from 2nd on the grid for the main final. At the beginning of the final everyone had a clean start, and in the opening laps Campbell and Connoly were able to pull away from the rest of the field. The Velox of Campbell was handling excellently and before the first pit-stops, he was able to take the lead when Connolly slowed down following a small mistake. Just over half-way through the race, Campbell made a tyre-stop and rejoined in 2nd position. Connolly chose to go the full race on one set of tyres, and so when he made a mistake in the closing laps, Campbell was able to pass for the lead once-again and crossed the finishing line in first position. After the race Campbell had the following to say:"The race was really close all the way through, and I was delighted to win, taking maximum points for the championship. A big thanks once again to my dad and Chris Lawlor for their excellent pit-work. "The top 3 final results were :
1) Ian Campbell - 114 laps / 30 mins, 8.94 seconds. (Velox V8)
2) Clive Connolly - 114 laps / 30 mins, 14.08 seconds.
3) Eoin Doran - 108 laps / 30 mins, 8.44 seconds.
Chris Steele was competing in the 1/10th scale class racing with the Velox V10 for the second time. He took TQ in the 1/10th class in round 4 of qualifying, with a time of 18 laps, 5 minutes, 8.29 seconds. Qualifying 2nd was Chris Lawlor, 3 seconds back, and in 3rd was Keith Dempsey, a further 6 seconds behind. In the 30 minute final, both Steele and Lawlor swapped 1st position until lap 31, when Steele regained the lead. Chris Steele then held his position all the way to the end, eventually winning by 1 lap. Moving up to third place early-on, Darren Gibb finished in 3rd, making it two Velox V10s on the podium.

The top 3 final results were :
1) Chris Steele - 101 laps/ 30 mins, 13.02 seconds. (Velox V10)
2) Chris Lawlor - 100 laps / 30 mins, 15.57 seconds.
3) Darren Gibb - 93 laps / 30 mins, 9.57 seconds. (Velox V10)
