More news from Shepherd factory!!!

"Last weekend the 2nd Rd of the North German Championship took place at the MACH Hamburg track. Saturday started with free practise on a slippery track but the traction got better and better during the day. Already in practise the Shepherd/Sonic drivers Lars Hoppe and Timo Schröder had a good pace which they kept all the weekend.
In qualfying Lars took the TQ spot with his Sonic powered Velox V8 PRO in front of Timo using the same pacakge and Ingo Bobrowski in third.

As the tyre wear was quite high a smooth driving was required for the final. After the Start Lars immediatelly pulled away followed by Timo and Ingo. Lap by lap he increased the lead and never looked back. After 30min he crossed the finishing line in first position followed by Timo in 2nd with Ingo completing the podium. "

Clean sweep for Shepherd @ South German Nats Rd2

"The 3rd round of the South German Championship in Türkheim saw a clean sweep for Team Shepherd with victories in all three classes. In 1/8 class 2 it was young Shepherd driver Max Günther taking the win while Maxi Vogl won the 1/8 class 1 with Patrick Nähr completing the perfect result by winning the 1/10 touring class.
In the south of Germany the 1/8 classes are raced together so the main final was a mix of class 1 and class 2 drivers. Starting from the pole-position after he won his semi-final Maxi immediatelly took control of the race and pulled away followed by Armin Baier and Bastian Gramlich. At the 20 min mark it was time for some fresh outside tyres for Maxi, while the rest of the field choose to finish the race with one set. Although Maxi retained the lead the gap was closer after the tyre change and due to Maxi's engine getting a little bit rich the final minutes saw some close racing with Armin Baier and Bastian Gramlich trying to catch up. Maxi stayed calm and crossed the finishing line in first position about 2 sec in front of Armin Baier with Bastian Gramlich completing the podium.

After an error free run young Shepherd talent Max Günther finished on 5th position in the combined final which was enough to take the overall win the class 2 two laps in front of Shepherd team-mate Philipp Kible with Alex Bremberg completing the podium another 2 laps down.

In the 1/10 touring car class it was a close battle between Dominic Greiner and Patrick Nähr all the weekend. Dominic was able to take TQ in front of Patrick, but in the semi-final Patrick was a little bit faster and took the pole-position for the 30min finale. The first half of the final saw a lot of position changes. As Dominik was hit by some engine troubles the fight for the lead was between Patrick and Mirco Thalheimer which saw several changes due to different pit strategies. In lap 60 Patrick was able to re-take the lead nad never looked back crossing the finishing line 2 laps in front of Mirco with Dominik completing the podium."

Shepherd news!

"The first round of the Swedish Cup 1/8 took place at Staffanstorp in the south of the country. Shepherd's new signing Marcus Lindner already showed a good performance during qualifying  and placed his Velox V8 on third position.

The final was a close affair between Marcus Lindner and Mikael Fransson both quickly increasing the gap to the rest of the field after the first laps. Fransson was a little bit faster but Lindner was always close, waiting for a chance to take over the lead. As the tyre wear was quite high Lindner decided to do a tyre stop at the 25min mark but the fresh tyres made the car hard to drive and he lost some time in the following laps. Before the last pitstop Franssons had a build up a small lead over Lindner but he flamed out at the last pitstop handing over the lead to Lindner who cruised to the victory at his first outing with Shepherd. Fransson recovered and finished on second place followed by Patrik Johansson in third."

RV: Richard Volta takes 4th Rd of French 1/8 Nats

"Last weekend the 4th Rd of the French 1/8 Nationals was held under sunny conditions at La Ferriere aux Etangs in the Normandy. In qualifying it was Romain Picard how took TQ honors only 0,7sec in front of Shepherd driver Richard Volta who had to do an additional pitstop for fuel.
In the semi finals Richard was the fastest driver on the track leading from the start to the checkered flag taking the pole-position for the main final while Romain dropped out in the second semi final as he crashed his car.
From the start of the final Richard controlled the race. With an easy to drive car and a good pit crew he managed to keep a gap upon the rest of the field driving safely around the track. After 45min he crossed the finishing line 5 seconds in front of Christophe Aygon with Christophe Louis completing the podium on 3rd place.

Coming down from the rostrum Richard said ”I really enjoyed the race, my Velox was really fast” and without taking any risks he managed to set a new lap record of 14,22 sec."
