Sergio Montesinos, nuevo campeon de España 1/8 PG

 

El Team Montesinos ha conseguido su segundo titulo de campeón de España casi 20 años despues de conseguir el primero. Tras unos años donde se ha mostrado como un valor seguro alcanzando todas las finales y subiendo a la mayoría de los pódiums, Sergio ha logrado ser campeón de España a falta de una prueba. Segundo en ARCA, tercero en Almussafes y primero en Vigo, ¿qué mas se puede pedir?

Desde hace unos años, el Team Montesinos apuesta por Mugen como montura y este años ha decidido montar OS Engines y dejar atrás muchos años con Novarossi.

Sergio Montesinos siempre se ha caracterizado por ser un piloto muy fiable, de mucho ritmo y muy cuidadoso de su mecánica, pero desde el paso a Mugen ademas se ha mostrado con una velocidad que al final le ha valido para revalidar el titulo de 1996.

Con Sergio siempre esta quizá el mejor mecanico del 1/8 español, Iñaki Montesinos. No recuerdo, y llevo muchos años, la ultima vez que un coche montado por Iñaki sufrio una averia mecánica…simplemente “EL MEJOR”

Shepherd Velox V8 brass battery tray

Shepherd Velox V8 "EC" official release

Shepherd saca al mercado la ultima evolucion del V8 recogiendo todas las mejoras que los pilotos oficiales han ido probando hasta conseguir ser Campeon de Europa en 2013, tanto en el Euro A como en el B. En mi opinión personal y reconociendo que algun problema tenia, por lo menos el modelo de 2012, el Velox es el coche mas rápido y agil que yo he probado. En esta ultima evolucion seguro se han corregido esas pequeñas anomalías. COCHAZO!!!

 

Although the latest Velox V8 kit is already avaiable for some time we are following up with the official release. The Velox V8 "EC" 1/8th scale nitro on-road kit is made to honour the European Championship titles of Jilles Groskamp (EC-A) and Daniel Sieber (EC-B) won with the Velox V8 Pro in 2013. Since the new version is available it continued to achieve great results by placing 2nd and 3rd at the Euros B and leading the point standings at the ENS Series. The main focus with the EC was to simplify maintenance and setup for an easier work on the car as well as some upgrades to improve the performance.

 

The completely redesigned front bumper is 5mm longer and has a new shape for a better seating of the body which is additionally supported by wider integrated body mounts. Several aerodynamic features improve the air flow resulting in more front steering.

 

The front and the rear end are equipped with new 2-piece bulkheads which allow an easy access to the front one-way shaft and rear solid axle respectively reducing the time for maintenance significantly.

 

Updated rear wishbones sport a pivotball for the anti-roll bar linkage making it easier to adjust the correct length of the linkage. The arms for the rear body mount feature a second mounting hole raising the body by 7,5mm which results in more overall downforce and a higher corner speed. Also new to the EC kit is a redesigned radio plate for optimizied flex and a an updated main chassis with additional fixing hole for chassis weights.

Joaquin Signes, gana en Almussafes 2014

 

Joaquin Signes barre a sus rivales en Almussafes consiguiendo la triple corona, pole, vuelta rápida y carrera!!! Sin duda fue el piloto mas rápido en todo el fin de semana y tanto su equipo (Mugen-Nova-Nitrolux) como él funcionaron a la perfeccion. Nacho Lopez apretó de lo lindo y durante media final estuvo pegado al alerón de Signes aunque este ya le había recupera uno de los dos repostajes de “mas” que tenia que hacer en carrera debido al consumo del virtus de Signes. Un mal cambio de ruedas y una parada de motor de Lopez nos privaron de un final de infarto ya que Signes consiguió una vuelta de vantaja. Sergio Montesinos acabo en tercera posición lo que le aupa al primer puesto de la general provisional.

ENS 3ºround...Germany!

La ENS 2014 llega a la tercera prueba este próximo fin de semana. Pilotos de la talla de Pietsch, Ielasi, Solaroli, Zamuner, Lorenzi, Bertin, Salven, D´Hont, Kurzbuch, R.V., Sieber, Lechner, Vogl, Pirani…dan mucha calidad a la prueba. Mientras tanto en España se disputa la 2º prueba del nacional en Almussafes, algo me dice que a partir de los próximos años los calendarios nacionales habrá que hacerlos teniendo en cuenta las carreras de la ENS que poco a poco estan consiguiendo una importancia muy relevante en la categoría.
