As a result of an joint venture between Shepherd Micro Racing and German Serpent distributor 2-Speed the Pro Stock Series was created out of the Hobby Cup which was run and supported by Shepherd for the past 10 years. The seriesfeatures regional races all across Germany with a grand final being hold at the end of the season to determine the overall winners. This year the grand final took place at the beautiful track of the Wiesbaden Mini Car Club in the center of Germany.
The practise started on Saturday with all participants trying to find the best setup for their cars. In the 1/10th scale class newly crowned European Champion 40+ Bernd Hasselbring and Hobby Cup Champion 2011 Marcus May were the favourites for the overall titel, while Alex Kempe - normally pitman for Patrick Schäfer - showed a great performance too and joined the list of possible race winners for the prestigious final. In the 1/8th scale class it was clear that the race and the championship would be decided between Serpent's Patrick Gassauer and Shepherd's Timo Schröder as both clocked clearly the fastest laptimes.
After qualifying it was Marcus May with his Velox V10 "PRO"taking TQ honors in the 1/10th scale class only 2 seconds in front of Alex Kempe and former Austrian 1/12 Champion Martin Wilfinger another second down, all with 19 laps. The last direct qualifier spot went to Bernd Hasselbring just missing the 19th lap by 0,333 sec.
In the 1/8th scale class Serpent Viper 977 pilot Patrick Gassauer claimed the pole position for the 40min main final withTimo Schröder lining up second on the grid 1,2 sec down. The direct qualifiers were completed by Alex Schmitt on third place and Peter Poldvere on 4th respecitvely.
The crowd at the track saw an exciting 1/10th scale final from the start signal to the checkered flag. At the beginning Marcus May pulled away slightly while the battle for the 2nd position was very intense between Alexand Martin. Positions swapped several times until Alex managed to get his driving together and started to hunt down Marcus while Martin suffered technical problems and dropped back. A quick rear outside tyre change at Alex' Velox at the 30min mark allowed him to push to the end while Marcus was running out of tyres although he drove very carefully. In the final minutes Alex closed the gap very fast until he was right behind Marcus with only 3-4 laps to go. 20 sec before the end Alex passed Marcus and took the victory in front of Marcus making it a 1-2 for Shepherd. Bernd Hasselbring completed the podium 4 laps down.

With his second place Marcus took the overall victory in front of Bernd Hasselbring and David Ranft.
In the 1/8th scale class everybody was waiting for the showdown between Timo Schröder and Patrick Gassauer. After the start both pulled away quickly from the rest of the field. Some minutes into the race Timo took over the lead as Patrick tried to conserve his tyres as he planned to complete the final without a tyre change. Timo pulled away slightly, but dropped back to second position after his tyres change at the 20min mark. Back into the race with fresh tyres hemanaged to unlap himself with 15 minutes to go closing the gap constantly. About 6 minutes before the end he was only a few seconds behind Patrick but technical problems stopped his challenge. Having a huge lead over the rest of the field Patrick cruised to the victory in the final minutes with Detlef Dickes finishing second 9 laps down. Peter Poldvere completed the podium another lap down.
